MDSians celebrates 67th Republic Day with zeal

The constitution of India is an integral part of our heritage bequeathed to us by the founding fathers of our nations. We the people of India are the trusties and custodian of the values enshrined in our constitution. 26th January, Republic Day, A day to celebrate patriotic fervors in the true spirit of ‘Indianness’. The day was celebrated in all its solemnity and grandeur at M.D.S. Public School, Sec-3 and Pratap Nagar branch. And the much awaited Annual Sports Day was held on 67th Republic Day. The fantastic turnout from the parents and the pleasant weather were the perfect boost for the students on their very first sports day.

The day began with our school band accompanying chief guest Col. Rajendra Kumar, Administrative Commandant of Eklinggarh Military Station, Mr. Dhirendra Singh, Mr.K.N Gupta Mr.Sachan and Mr. Kasera, Editor Rajasthan Patrika. The guests were welcomed by founder, Mr. R.C. Somani and Dr. Shailendra Somani. Col. Rajendra Kumar hoisted The Tricolor. The Tricolor was unfurled and everyone showed their respect by saluting The Tricolor. The National Anthem was sung with the band playing their instruments in the background.The student pledged themselves to uphold the honor and integrity, diversity and uniqueness that is India. Patriotic songs were sung by school choir.

The sports day started with march past of all the four platoons namely Vallabhi, Vikaramshilla, Nalanda and Takshilla.After the ceremonial oath taking, the torch was lit. The Sports Meet was declared ‘open’ by the director, MrShailendraSomani as he addressed the special audience of parents and students.The Sports Day consisted of track events and drill by the primary children, yogic art performance by class 7th, followed fun games of class 1st, 2nd,3rd. Main attraction of the sports were 6th to 10th class races.100mts. and 200 mts. Races were held between 4 houses of the school.Students showcased their unity, understanding and will-power in the various forms of sports activities. 11thclass students performed an eye-catching dance and paid tribute to martyrs.

All the sports achievers of the sports day were awarded with trophies n certificates by the chief guest. The students who bring laurels to school in games or education were also awarded. All the 4 houses were awarded first, second or third on their performance in games.

In last, Dr. Shailendra Somani congratulated everyone and declared the meet closed. Dr. Nidhi Maheshwari appreciated the successful event and wished luck to everyone.
